Air showers are specialized enclosed antechambers used to decrease particle pollution in cleanrooms and other regulated environments. High-pressure, HEPA- or ULPA-filtered air is used in air showers to remove dust, fibrous lint, and other pollutants from persons and object surfaces. The quantity of airborne particles introduced is reduced when surfaces are “cleansed” vigorously before entering clean surroundings.
